Demonstrations
We have conducted demonstrations for a variety of different organizations, including but not limited to senior citizen homes, corporate offices, local conventions, and our local public library. At these events we will typically bring one larger robot; a smaller robot, which people can drive; an arts and crafts station with buttons, coloring sheets, and word searches; and a variety of other robots and activities. For more information, please visit our Demonstrations Page. If you would like to schedule a demonstration with your organization, please feel free to contact us.
Suicide Prevention
In 2016, Quasics senior Mirage Patel lost his life to suicide. In 2017, we lost Jeffrey Heberling, an alumnus, to suicide as well. In response to this, we have made it our mission to raise awareness of, and support for, suicide prevention. We have partnered with the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention for mental health workshops for our students. We have also participated in their Out of the Darkness Walks to raise money and awareness. Coach Sean is an active AFSP volunteer today.
The Demi Brae Cuccia Awareness Organization
In 2007, Gateway High School student Demi Cuccia was murdered by an ex boyfriend. In her honor, the Demi Brae Cuccia Awareness Organization was created, with the mission of fighting teen dating violence. To honor her memory and to raise awareness of teen dating violence, our drive team wears the organization’s shirts to the Greater Pittsburgh Regional on practice days.
Girl Scouts of Western PA
In May of 2018, we began our Girl Scouts initiative to run free STEM Badge Workshops and robot demonstrations for as many local Girl Scout Troops as we can. For more information, please visit our Girl Scouts Page. If you would like to schedule a demonstration for your Girl Scouts Troop, please feel free to contact us.
