Quasics has hosted or participated in dozens of Community Outreach events since 2015. 2019 was our busiest calendar year thus far, with 54 appearances and 15,229 visitors Inspired!
Our typical demonstration is a multi-station event where visitors can visit each station in the order of their choosing, or small groups can rotate through each. Typical demonstration areas are listed below. If you would like Quasics to bring our robots to your group or event, please send an email to: contact at quasics.org
FIRST Robotics Competition
We will bring over one of our FRC machines to demonstrate and, in larger spaces, let visitors drive! The robots are built annually to compete in the FIRST Robotics Competition. They range from 2' to 5' in height and can weigh up to 120lbs. These machines are designed, built, and programmed by Gateway High School students in just six weeks!
VEX Robotics Competition
We will bring over our VEX competition robots to demonstrate and potentially let visitors drive! The robots are built each year by two teams of freshmen to compete in the VEX Robotics Competition. They must start with an 18" cube, though can often expand in different directions during match play. These machines are designed, built, and programmed by Gateway High School students over a 3-4 month time frame.
We will also bring over Millie, our VEX demonstration robot. She has special Mecanum wheels (and a few other surprises) and was built specifically to be driven by visitors at demos.
Arts and Crafts
At this station, visitors can usually do two things and take home both! One is "Draw Your Own Robot", where visitors can use crayons and markers to sketch their very own robot! Perhaps it will do the dishes, walk the dog, or do your homework! The other take-home item is a customized 2.25" pin-back button featuring the visitors own artwork!
